Sgt. William “Bill” Savin, formerly of the Lancashire Fusiliers, joined No.3 Troop of No.6 Commando after D-Day. He is also noted as serving in No.5 Troop. Sgt. William Savin was seriously wounded in the arm by a sniper in the Aller Woods on 11th April 1945, and did not return to the Commando. . |
